In this session, we look at the various types of fluoroscopic systems and their clinical features. All departments have a system that does both radiographic and fluoroscopic exams. This design is often referred to as an RF system, and all have the same basic design elements. They all have an x-ray tube that is suspended from the ceiling using a support structure that enables full room coverage. This is important for exams performed on the table in a wheelchair or on a cart, as well as patients who can stand. The table consists of a tabletop and u shaped fluoroscopic carriage that's attached to the backside of the table base.
