Automatic Brightness Control - Video Lesson

Brightness Control is known by several names. Automatic brightness stabilization, automatic brightness control, automatic exposure brightness control, and even automatic exposure rate control. So let's take a look at it and how it works. Regardless of the name, its function is to automatically adjust fluoroscopic exposure rates to the image intensifier to maintain optimum output, phosphor image brightness. The key word here is automatic. All ABC systems have an exposure feedback loop. That connects the fluoroscopic X-ray generator output to the amount of output phosphor brightness. This feedback loop enables constant adjustment of fluoroscopic exposure factors, both milliamperage and KVP as a function of image brightness.
