Lung Disease - Video Lesson

Hey, everybody. Welcome back. In this video lesson, we'll be talking about a few types of lung diseases. We call these lung diseases because we're not talking about things like cancer, or abnormalities growing inside the lungs. We're not talking about things like haemothorax or pneumothorax, which are pathologies that are technically outside of the lungs themselves. These lung diseases are abnormalities with the lung tissue itself. So here's the first example of a lung disease that we'll consider in this We call this Emphysema. Infhesema is something you've probably heard of before. It's a type of COPD, which is instruction and enlargement of air spaces in the lungs. And that's what it looks like. It's visualized as hyper ventilation or excess air in the lungs, and we also see these abnormal things called blebs. That doesn't sound like a very scientific term, but that is what we call them. They are blebs, areas where the lung tissue has been destroyed and enlarged
