Coronary Artery Disease - Video Lesson

Hey, everybody. Welcome back. This lesson is about a condition we call coronary artery disease. Before we talk about the disease, it self, let's take a minute to make sure we understand the anatomy of the coronary arteries. This image is a three-dimensional reconstruction of a CT angiography study of the coronary arteries. We're basically looking down onto the aorta and we can see the coronary arteries branching off of the aorta. The first vessel we should look at is the most important coronary artery. This is what we call the left main coronary artery. Sometimes abbreviated LMCA, the left main coronary artery. This artery is super important because it feeds arterial blood to the entire left side of the heart. It also has two important branches. The first branch is what we call the LED. The left anterior descending coronary artery. The other branch on the posterior side of the heart is what we call
