Spinal Pathologies - Video Lesson

Hey, everybody. Welcome back. This lesson, we'll be talking about spinal pathologies, and there are several. The first one we'll talk about is metastasis. Metastasis is the result of cancer, and it can occur anywhere in the body, including in the spine. So first understand the spinal metastasis is a form of cancer just like metastasis anywhere else. And just like all forms of metastasis, this is going to appear in the spine as abnormal growths. Usually in multiples in the spine and in the spinal cord. So here's a few examples of what that can look like. In the first sagittal MRI image to the left, you clearly see that large growth affecting the vertebral body of the spine. The central image is another example of a different patient that has several abnormal growth throughout the spinal column. Unfortunately, all of these represent spinal metastases. In the final image, to the right. This is an axial CT without contrast, and we can see this area affecting the left rib of the thoracic vertebrae. This technically would not be
