CT Lumbar (Axial) - Video Lesson
Hey, and welcome back to your sectional anatomy tutorial. This time, we're looking at the lumbar spine in the axial view. The thing that's unique about the lumbar spine is actually that there's nothing unique about it. There's no special processes, no special appendages, The lumbar spine is just your characteristic, simple vertebrae. And so what we can see on this scan is just that. We can see the large vertebral body on the anterior side of the vertebrae. We can see the pedicles extending from the vertebral body. We can see the zygapophyseal joints where the two vertebrae articulate with each other. We can see the posterior portion of the vertebral canal formed by the lamina and extending posteriorly from the lamina, we see the spinous process.
