CT Neck (Axial) - Video Lesson

Everybody. Welcome back in this sectional anatomy tutorial. We'll be looking at an axial CT of the neck. In my opinion, an axial view of the neck is one challenging areas of the body. So let's jump right in and start by identifying some of the easier anatomies that we can use as a reference point To start with on this anterior side, this bright white structure is most definitely the mandible. On the posterior side, we can see this is the occipital bone of the cranium, and we can see a portion of c one as well as the dens of c two. Some of the larger more significant structures that we should point out in this slice. Over here on the right hand side, we can see the parotid gland which sits against the mandible And then on the other side, we can see the same thing. We can see the left parotid gland in the exact same position. In this next slice, we're moving inferior in the patient. We can still see that large mandible bone on the anterior side of the patient's face. We can still see these vertebral bodies back here on the post
