Brain CSF Pathologies - Video Lesson
Hey, everybody. In this lesson, we'll be talking about CSF pathologies in the brain. There's a few of these we'll be talking about, and to start with hydrocephalus. Hydrocephalus is a term that refers to abnormal CSF volume in the brain. So you remember what CSF stands for. That's cerebrospinal fluid. Hydrocephylus as a word makes sense. Cephelus refers to the brain. Hydro means fluid. And so it makes sense that hydrocephalus is a condition of excessive fluid in the brain. And the fluid that we're talking about is cerebro spinal fluid. So what does hydrocephalus look like in sectional imaging? Hydrocephylus appears as excessive CSF accumulation in the brain, especially in the ventricles.
