Brain Aneurysms - Video Lesson

Hey, everybody. Welcome back. In this lesson, we'll be talking about vascular conditions of the brain, especially brain aneurysms. So here's what we need to know about brain aneurysms. An aneurysm by definition is an abnormal enlargement of a blood vessel. This can occur anywhere in the body, and it can be lethal anywhere in the body. But in this lesson, we're especially talking about cerebral or brain aneurysms. What does an aneurysm look like? An aneurysm is exactly what it sounds like. It will look like an abnormally enlarged blood vessel. So it's going to appear as a dilated vessel, but sometimes it'll also look like a saccular out pouching. So here's a few examples of what aneurysms look like. In the first image, this is a contrast enhanced CT of the brain. And in the right middle cerebral artery, you can see this large round structure.
