Pixels and Digital Matrix - Video Lesson
Hey, everybody. Welcome back. This lesson is about the digital matrix of the image file. We'll be discussing the elements that work together to form this matrix. The digital matrix is made up of small picture elements called pixels. It's important to note that the digital matrix is different from the image receptor matrix and that pixels are different from Dell's. The image receptor matrix and Dells are discussed in another lesson. After an exposure is made, the captured image is made up of tiny picture elements that again we call pixels. Another way of thinking about it is to picture a mosaic. Each individual tile in the mosaic contains a color, which when placed alongside the other tiles forms an overall picture.
