Computed Radiography II - Video Lesson
Hey, everybody. Welcome back to our discussion on computed radiography. This video focuses on how the latent radiographic image contained inside the CR imaging plate is processed into a digital radiograph. Though protected inside the CR cassette, the imaging plate should be processed as close to the time of exposure as possible. To avoid any loss of the latent image. We use a plate reader to process or to convert the latent or stored x-ray image into a digital radiograph. The most common plate readers are composed of a helium neon laser. A laser separator or splitter, a focusing lens, a reflecting mirror, a photo multiplier tube, and an analog to digital converter. Once we insert the CR cassette into the plate reader, a set of rollers extracts the imaging plate from the protect
