These two concepts relate to the exposure capabilities of image receptors, and the role they play in image quality and patient dose. Let's start a discussion with dynamic range. Dynamic range has a very specific definition. It's the range of exposure values that can be captured by an image receptor. An image receptor can capture a wide range of exposure values. But not all exposure values.
