Spatial Resolution (Patient Factors) - Video Lesson

Hey, everybody. Welcome back. This lesson is about the patient factors that influence spatial resolution in the radiographic image. Remember spatial resolution is the structural sharpness recorded in the radiographic image. Spatial resolution is a very important image quality factor. There are four patient factors. That can influence the spatial resolution. Again, that's the sharpness in the image. This includes the object to image distance we call the OID. The patient's size, as well as pathologies and patient movements. Even though these are patient factors, The operator still has a role in manipulating these factors in a way that produces the best possible spatial resolution. The first factor we'll discuss is the object to image distance. It is important to position the patient as close to the image receptor as possible to achieve the best
