Hey, everybody. Welcome back. This lesson discusses the spatial resolution characteristics of display monitors. Remember spatial resolution is the structural sharpness recorded in the radiographic image. And it's a very important image quality factor. The display monitor is the very last factor affecting the spatial resolution of the radiographic image. Here's a quick recap of the factors that affect spatial resolution. Spatial resolution starts with the size of the cathode filament. Smaller is better. Spatial resolution is then affected by the angle of the anode. Again, smaller is better. Spatial resolution is affected by the SOD. That's the distance between the anode and the object of interest. It's also affected by the OID, the distance between the object and the image receptor.
