Knee & Patella: Anatomy & Routine Projections - Video Lesson
Hey, everybody. Welcome to today's lesson on the gross anatomy and routine radiographic projections of the knee and patella. This essential topic forms the foundation for accurate imaging and diagnosis of conditions related to the knee and patella. In this lesson, we'll cover the anatomy of the knee and patella and routine projections for radiographs. Let's get started. Key terms for this lesson include anatomy of the femur, femoral condyles, medial and lateral processes at the distal end of the femur, patellar surface also called the intercondylar sulcus or trochlear groove, shallow triangular depression in the anterior distal femur, intercondylar fossa, deep depression in the posterior distal femur. Adductor tubercle, raised bony area on the posterolateral aspect of the medial condyle, and the femoro tibial joint, articulation between the distal femur and proximal tibia. We also need to review some anatomy.
