Foot & Calcaneus: Anatomy & Routine Projections - Video Lesson

Hey, everybody. Welcome to today's lesson on the gross anatomy and routine radiographic projections of the foot and calcaneus. This essential topic forms the foundation for accurate imaging and diagnosis of conditions related to the foot and calcaneus. In this lesson, we'll cover appropriate medical terminology, the anatomy of the foot and calcaneus, and routine projections for radiographs. Let's get started. For this lesson, we'll need to know some anatomical terms for the bones and joints of the foot. Metatarsals, the bones of the instep and tarsals. Tarsals, the bones of the proximal foot. Metatarsophalangeal or MTP joints, the joints between the metatarsals and phalanges. Intertarsal joints, the joints between the tarsal bones. And tarsometatarsal or TMT joints, the joints between the tarsals and metatarsals. Now let's apply these terms and use them to identify the corresponding anatomy.
