Automatic Brightness Control (ABC) - Video Lesson

Hey, everybody. In this lesson, we're discussing the automatic brightness control and automatic gain control. How they work and why they're necessary and fluoroscopy. It is important to understand how both of these mechanisms work in order to obtain the highest quality images while still minimizing patient exposure. The automatic brightness control or the a, b, c, is referred to by several different names. Automatic brightness stabilization, automatic dose control, automatic dose rate control, and automatic exposure rate control. No matter what it is called, the ABC serves to automatically adjust exposure factors, like the KVP and the MA, in response to the variations in the thickness and density of anatomy or contrast material. The ABC is also responsible for delivering a constant signal intensity to the image intensifier or the flat panel detector.
