Control Effects on SPI Factors - Video Lesson
Hey, everybody. Welcome back to our course on ultrasound imaging. In this lesson, we are going to explore the control effects on sonography principles and instrumentation. This lesson explores key sonographic principles and instrumentation, SPI factors, including resolution, penetration, and signal to noise ratio, SNR, emphasizing what operators can and cannot control. We will also examine how adjustable controls influence image quality, as well as what parameters are not adjustable on the ultrasound system, and strategies for optimizing image quality while maintaining patient safety per Alara, as low as reasonably achievable, regulations. Let's get started. Sonographic imaging is a dynamic and operator dependent process, but there are certain limitations based on the manufacturer of the equipment. First, let's talk about two components that cannot be adjusted.
