Remember, normal incidence occurs when an ultrasound beam is perpendicular to the structure being imaged, meaning the angle between the beam and the target is ninety degrees. In doppler imaging, this condition significantly impacts signal detection and velocity measurement. At normal incidents, no doppler shift occurs because there's no component of motion along the ultrasound beam's axis.
