Additionally, we will cover their common clinical applications, correct administration procedures, patient safety considerations, and the importance of adhering to FDA and institutional guidelines. First, let's discuss what a microbubble contrast agent is. A microbubble contrast agent consists of gas filled microbubbles encapsulated by a lipid, protein, or polymer shell. Their unique properties such as high echogenicity and nonlinear response to ultrasound waves make them particularly effective in improving the diagnostic accuracy of ultrasound imaging. Micro bubble contrast agents have significantly advanced the field of diagnostic medical sonography by enhancing the visualization of vascular structure.
