Positions and Projections - Video Lesson

There's a difference between a position and a projection. Projection is how the body part is being examined. The projection or path is where the central ray enters and exits the patient towards the image receptor. Position is how the patient's body is placed in relation to the image receptor. Anterior is the front surface of the body. Postterior is the back surface of the body. Antero posterior or AP, projection is when the central rate enters the anterior side, and exits the posterior side. Postural anterior PA projection is when the central right enters the posterior side and exits the anterior side. Some radiographs require an angle.
