Body Planes - Video Lesson

Let's describe the planes of the body. The line that's going down the middle of her body in the mid sagittal plane, I use the word mid. Mid being the prefix word, meaning equal halves. That is going to divide her into a right and a left half. If I offset her just a little bit then that would be the sagittal plane because we no longer have equal halves. If I turn the patient towards me all the way around, This is the coronal plane. It sep separates the body into an anterior portion in a post terior portion. We use the prefix mid coronal plane, then we have equal halves. And just like before, if we offset and we do not have equal halves, it would just be the coronal plane.
