Hey, everybody. Welcome back. This lesson is about grid errors. Grids are very useful in radiographic imaging, but they can cause image quality problems. A grid error refers to an artifact introduced to a radiographic image from misusing a grid. These artifacts have different appearances depending on the issue. This lesson discusses several types of grid errors, including off level error, off center error, off focus error, off angulation error and upside down error. These errors can significantly degrade the image quality. So the operator must understand how to recognize these errors and how to correct them. Remember that within a grid, the lead strips are oriented vertically to match the path of the useful beam. This design allows most of the useful beam to pass through while most of the scatter radiation gets absorbed by the lead strips. All grid
