Exposure Timer and Automatic Exposure Control - Video Lesson

Hey, everybody. Welcome back in this video about quality control and radiography. We're talking about two things related to the exposure time. First, the exposure timer itself, as well as automatic exposure control, a e c. Let's start by talking about control related to the exposure timer. The actual exposure time must be within plus or minus five percent of the indicated exposure time. So what does that mean? If we set the exposure time to a certain number in reality, when the procedure is performed, when we hit that exposure button not going to be exactly what we told the X-ray machine to use. And that's okay if it's not exactly right, but it can't be off by more than plus or minus five percent of the indicated or the prescribed exposure time. And just so you know, when the exposure time starts to get really short, even more tolerance is allowed. So let's look at some numbers to see what this looks like. So let's say the prescribed
