CT Pancreas - Video Lesson

This CT protocol review is about the CT multi phase study of the pancreas. Fortunately for our little minds, the CT pancreas protocol is very similar to the CT Liver protocol with a few major exceptions. The first one being that we're not looking at the liver, we're looking at the pancreas. We use the CT pancreas protocol if we need to characterize a pancreatic mass. There's lots of things that can go wrong with the pancreas. But really the only time we would use this dedicated pancreas protocol is if the patient does have a pancreatic mass, and we need to understand more about that mass. There are some specific slice parameters that we should keep in mind when scanning the pancreas. The first is that we do need to use thinner slices for this study. We're looking for small changes in the pancreas, so we need to use two point five millimeter slices for viewing. And then as always, we're also going to reconstruct even thinner slice for post processing. The scan of the pancreas does need to include the entire pancreas, but only the pancreas. The c
