Ultrasound Display Modes - Video Lesson
Hey, everybody. Welcome to today's video on imaging in ultrasound scans. This lesson explores display modes and how ultrasound machines translate sound waves into detailed images and explain the three primary display modes, a mode, b mode, and m mode, and when and why each is used in diagnostic imaging. Let's begin with a quick definition of display modes. In sonographic imaging, display modes refer to the different ways ultrasound data is visualized on a screen. These modes translate the echoes generated by the interaction of sound waves with tissues into graphical or visual representations, each serving a unique clinical purpose. The three primary display modes are a mode or amplitude mode, b mode or brightness mode, and m mode or motion mode. First up, let's talk about a mode or amplitude mode. This was one of the earliest display modes in ultrasound.
