Pulse Echo Components - Video Lesson

Hey, everybody. Welcome back to our series on the instruments and components of the ultrasound imaging system. This video is focused on the journey of sound waves through the pulse echo system. We will look at the components of this system and how each part works together to create the ultrasound diagnostic image. Let's begin with a quick overview of four of the Pulse echo components in an ultrasound scanner. The transducer. The device converts electrical energy into sound waves and back into electrical signals. The pulser. This is the system's signal generator, responsible for sending out a perfectly timed electrical pulse to the transducer. The receiver is a signal processor that amplifies and fine tunes the returning echoes, turning processed data into the images we analyze. The display is the sonographer's window into the patient's anatomy, allowing for viewing of processed signals.
