Each classification reflects distinct flow characteristics based on the resistance of downstream vascular beds. Additionally, we will explore how technical adjustments, such as scale and gate size, impact spectral waveforms. Let's get started. Spectral waveforms can be classified as monophasic, biphasic, and triphasic. Remember, spectral waveforms are graphic representations of blood flow velocity over time. Each spectral waveform displays peak systolic velocity or PSV, end diastolic velocity, EDV, and flow direction.
