Transformer Math - Video Lesson

Hey, everybody. Welcome back. This video is about transformer math. Remember that transformers have a very simple job. They change or transform the voltage in an electrical circuit. The voltage is increased or it's decreased. There's two types of transformers. A step up transformer increases the voltage, but decreases the amperage, and a step down transformer does just the opposite. It steps down or decreases the voltage, but increases the amperage. All of this is based on the number of turns in the transformer. Here is the basic form of the formula that we can use for calculating the specific change in voltage. It's VS, which is the secondary voltage over VP, which is the primary voltage, And that's equal to n s, which is the number of turns in the secondary side
