Today's lesson focuses on basic information about ultrasound artifacts, including the fundamental assumptions of ultrasound imaging and the significance of ultrasound artifacts in sonographic imaging. Let's get started. Ultrasound artifacts are image distortions or inaccuracies that result from the interaction of ultrasound waves with tissues in ways that violate the fundamental assumptions of sonographic imaging. These artifacts may either enhance or obscure structures, potentially leading to misinterpretation of diagnostic images.
