MRI Hand/Wrist (Pathology) - Video Lesson

Hey, everyone. Welcome to today's lesson on pathology of the wrist and hand. In this lesson, we will look at some indications for these studies and compare them to normal images. A more detailed review of specific anatomic structures is provided in the wrist anatomy and hand anatomy lessons. It is important to remember there are many pathologies seen in MRI. These are just a few common ones a technologist should be familiar with. Let's get started. First, we will look at triangular fibrocartilage complex or TFCC, which are tears which can be caused by trauma, like falls on an outstretched hand or degenerative changes. This affects the cartilage and ligaments stabilizing the distal radioulnar joint. Normal TFCC appears as a low signal structure on coronal images.
