Fluoroscopy Iso Curves - Video Lesson

Hey, everybody. This lesson discusses ISO exposure curves. Which depict different levels of radiation intensity around a fluoroscopic system. While this concept sounds tricky, it is very important to understand as it will help you to avoid unnecessary very occupational dose. We know that X-ray beams scatter as they interact with a patient. We also know that these beams can be harmful to clinical staff. So how can we avoid these scattered beams by placing ourselves outside of known scatter areas? These areas can be mapped using spatial distribution curves called ISO exposure lines. By distancing yourself from the patient and using radiation safe positioning, you can avoid scatter areas and reduce your exposure significantly. So what are ISO exposure lines? ISO exposure lines sometimes referred to as ISO dose curve are a visual representation of the levels of radiation intensity around a fluoroscopic system. These lines express x
