Hey everyone, and welcome back to our abdominal ultrasound series. In today's lesson, we'll focus on hepatic trauma related abnormalities. This section will cover the sonographic evaluation of trauma related liver abnormalities and hepatic vascular injury. We'll also look at how ultrasound plays a role in trauma imaging, including its use during focused assessment with sonography for trauma, or FAST exams. Ultrasound is often one of the first imaging modalities used in trauma settings. It's portable, non invasive, and provides real time imaging that can quickly detect hemoperitoneum or perihepatic fluid collections, which may indicate underlying liver injury.
