Abdomen Sonography: Communication and Interpersonal Skills - Video Lesson

Hey everybody and welcome to our course on clinical care standards in medical sonography. This lesson covers essential aspects of patient and practitioner interaction, proper exam preparations, urgent findings and privacy practices that ensure diagnostic accuracy and uphold professional standards in allied health environments. Let's get started. Properly preparing for an exam directly impacts the quality and diagnostic value of abdominal sonographic examinations. The goal is to reduce variables that may obscure internal anatomy such as bowel gas or improper organ distention. To do this you should recall the common protocols. The first to remember is fasting. Most abdominal sonographic exams require fasting for six to eight hours before the procedure. Fasting reduces bowel gas, promotes gallbladder distension and minimizes peristalsis improving visualization of structures like the gallbladder, liver, pancreas
