Scintillation Detectors - Video Lesson

Hey, everybody. Welcome back. This video is about synylation detectors used for radiation measurements. Cynylation detectors are common in modern radiology departments and other facilities that use ionizing radiation. For example, scintillation detectors are quite effective for use for environmental surveys. They are used by nuclear medicine technologists, medical physicists, and really anyone who needs to survey an environment for radiation. Also, indirect captured digital image receptors are constructed with scintillation detectors. Cynylation detectors have a fairly complex design and multiple layers. So here's how they work. The first component is the scynylation crystal. This crystal is usually a solid material. So it's very effective at absorbing radiation. When photons strike this material, it creates bursts of light that we
