MIMPS Networking (formerly PACS Networking) - Video Lesson

Hey, everybody. Welcome back. This lesson will discuss the details of MIMPS and networking. Remember MIM stands for medical image management and processing system. MIMS is a system that has multiple components that work together. That allow healthcare workers to process, manipulate, and or review patient images. It is important to understand how MIMS functions within a network in case you ever need to troubleshoot an issue with image distribution. First, let's talk about networks in general. A network consists of computers that are all connected through one another somehow. A network really serves as an infrastructure that handles informational transactions between multiple parties. For example, a network allows information to be shared from MIMPS to the billing department, or to the radiologist for image review
