Welcome back everybody to our series on fluoroscopic procedures. This video will discuss some contrast swallow special cases. One example is a gastric pull through, a gastric pull through consists of a complete or partial esophagectomy, which is a surgical procedure to remove some or all of the esophagus. And reconstruct it using part of another organ. The stomach is lifted to meet the remaining tissues in the upper esophagus to establish full connection between the throat and the stomach. It's vital in this special case to obtain an adequate patient history and review the physician's order.
