Clavicle & AC Joints: Radiographic Anatomy - Video Lesson
Hey, everybody. Welcome to today's lesson on radiographic anatomy, demonstrated on routine projections of the clavicle and AC joints. In a previous lesson, we discussed the anatomy of the clavicle and AC joints and which radiographic projections are routinely performed. So let's tie that information to the radiographs themselves. As a reminder, the routine radiographic projections of the clavicle are AP and AP axial, and the routine radiographic projections of the AC joints are AP with and without weights. Let's start with the first image. What projection is being demonstrated here? Let's take a look. This is an AP projection of the clavicle. We know this because the clavicle is demonstrated without any foreshortening, and the midclavicle is superimposed on the superior scapular angle. What projection is demonstrated in this image? How do you know? This is an AP axial projection of the clavicle. The way we can distinguish this from the perpendicular AP is that the clavicle
