Abdomen Sonography: Pancreas Pathologies and Abnormalities - Video Lesson

Welcome back everyone to our course on abdomen extended pathologies and abnormalities. This lesson looks at the pancreas, which is often one of the more challenging abdominal organs to evaluate with ultrasound. Despite its tucked away location, the pancreas can be affected by a wide range of diseases, many of which present with distinctive sonographic findings. Understanding these appearances, their clinical correlations, and the limitations of ultrasound in this region will be crucial for both the registry exam and your daily practice. Let's dive in. It is important to remember the normal sonographic appearance of the pancreas. The normal pancreas has a homogeneous, finely granular echotexture that is typically equal to or slightly more echogenic than the liver. Its borders are smooth and well defined, with a size that varies slightly by body habitus.
