MR Image Contrast - Video Lesson

Hey, everybody. Welcome to today's lesson on MRI contrast principles. This lesson will provide an overview of image contrast in MRI, including the intrinsic and extrinsic parameters that influence contrast in MRI images. Understanding not only what image contrast is, but also how to manipulate it is extremely important, as contrast allows for the detection of abnormalities and or pathologies in soft tissue. Contrast is the visible difference in brightness between two areas on an image. Contrast in MRI is crucial because it differentiates between the various types of tissues, making it possible to identify abnormalities such as tumors, inflammation, or vascular issues. There are two categories of factors which affect image contrast, intrinsic and extrinsic contrast parameters. Intrinsic contrast
