CT Frontal Bone - Video Lesson

Hey, everybody. Welcome back. This sexual anatomy video is about the frontal bone. We'll start with a volume rendered image. This image is a volume rendered CT image of the cranium and facial bones. The scan is mostly normal, except for a few injuries that we'll observe shortly. The frontal bone is the large prominent bone on the front of the cranium. It includes some important features and landmarks that we can see in this three d image. The inferior edge of the frontal bone forms the supraorbital margin. That's the upper portion of the bony orbit, also called the eye socket. The anterior portion of the frontal bone contains the frontal sinuses. These are air filled cavities within the bone. The face and cranium include other sinuses that together are called the paranasal sinuses. In this patient, the frontal sinus is partially collapsed due to blunt trauma to the face. The posterior edge of the frontal bone articulates with the parietal bones
